How well did you do? Here are my answers.

  1. Put your contact info at the top of every page. Make it easy for the person who is reading your resume since they may be looking at hundreds at one time.
  2. Consider having your targeted job near the top of your resume. The reader needs to understand right away what you can do for them. Remember, you need to make it easy for them.
  3. People tune out when there is too much text in a paragraph. Bullets can be helpful, if there are not too many. The challenge is to get a clear summary of what you have done by showing your accomplishments.
  4. Strategic use of these can highlight what is most important for the employer to know—just do not overuse them on your resume.
  5. Your next employer only cares about current and expert level technical and industry related skills.
  6. Yes, be sure to include any recent leadership/chair roles for community or other organizations.
  7. This depends on how relevant your past work experiences are to your targeted job
